LugRadio Live Part 1 The Travel Lodge

So after A little Fail in getting to Wolverhampton (montys having a little bike accident, and really bad traffic) we finally got to out travel lodge hotel.

Turns out the Wolverhampton Travel loge was only built last year so it is one of there new high tech / high quality one!

I have to admit i am very impressed with it, the whole hotels deacore is a high quality and the rooms are simple yet smart!

The Room

The Bed and Cloths Rail
Travel Lodge Part 1

The Bed was quite comfortable, could have had more pillows but luckily as it was only me sleeping in the double bed there was just enough!

The Cloths rack could do with some privacy in the hanging, but then i suppose that the rooms arn't really meant for entertaining other people and if they where a solid unit would detract from the general spacious feeling of the room!

Television and Desk
Travel Lodge Room Part 2

The general shape of the roon is an 'L' Shape in the off shoot section of the room (in front of the bed area) the rooms TV and Desk are located.

The TV is a little small but not too small that is is un-watchable from the bed, and come with full digital TV.

The Desk is Prety standard for a hotel room, 2x power sockets, a kettle, but what was nice was that the tea and coffee where better than standard quality ( i.e. Twinings and Nescaffe Gold, as aposed to the PG tips, and Nescaffe Original) which was good as a nice cup of tea was verry welcome after my long drive!

The Bathroom
Bathroom

Bathroom is a tad on the small side and the gap between the loo and sink is a little uncomfortable for a gentleman of my size and girth but then i have come to expect it. The shower is a reasonable size for one person! But i would not recommend having a sneaky joint shower in one! This was also probably one of the cleanest hotel bathrooms i have been to, to date.

Key Card Power Control
Key Card

This is probably the thing that made me most exited about the room in-order to power the room you have to insert your key card in to a wall mounted reader this activates the power to the room! it also switches everything off when removed! this is handy for someone as absent minded as me!!
I am seriously considering implementing a similar system for me at home!!

I only have 2 gripes about this palce is that one the drinks at the hotel bar are extremely expensive even compared to other hotel bars! and two there is no free wifi, instead you must pay per hour at a high cost! this is not great for a geek like myself who likes constant internet exposure!
